The Sunrise that Pulled Me Over

As I was on my way to our Warden Community Days pancake feed put on the fire department, I saw this sunrise, and I pulled over to think about it for a while. It was breath-taking, and I realized two things…
1) God does amazing work in our lives, and
2) I really need to clean my windshield.

My blog isn’t going to become a photoblog, in large part to me not having a good camera. Photography has never been a hobby because I’ve never really been interested in paying for development of pictures. With the digital camera, that’s no longer an issue… it’s just that I don’t have one.

This photo was taken with my phone, and edited in the GIMP, an open-source image processor (like Photoshop, but without the high price tag.)

As for the processing, I combined two different photographs, blended them, and then applied the “Oilify” Artistic Filter.

This sunrise reminded me of Luke 1:78-79:
because of the tender mercy of our God,
whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high
to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,
to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
